Torreón recibe el Accésit de Formación y Empleo en los Premios PYME del año Salamanca 2023

Torreón receives the Second Prize for Training and Employment in the Salamanca 2023 SME of the Year Awards

Last Friday, September 22, Ibéricos Torreón received the second prize for Training and Employment in the Salamanca 2023 SME of the Year Awards. These awards, granted by Banco Santander and the Chamber of Commerce of Salamanca, in collaboration with the Chamber of Spain and The Salamanca Gazette was delivered to the Chamber's headquarters.

On behalf of Torreón, the recognition was collected by Carlos Blázquez, director of Business Development and third generation of Ibéricos Torreón, who attended together with Laura García , director of Exportation (second generation) and Miguel Ángel de Vargas, director of Operations.

This award is especially important because it highlights the efforts of small and medium-sized companies that, like ours, are in a period of change. As Carlos Blázquez explains, “digitalization, the incorporation of technology in the production processes and the search for other countries to which to bring our Iberian ham are needs that the market is demanding of us and, with this need being clear, the first measure has been "has been investing in human capital through training and the creation of quality employment."

The jury was made up of Benjamín Crespo Andrés, José Luis Coll Tellechea, Demetrio Rodríguez Vicente, Juan José Sánchez Alonso and Julián Ballestero Chillón, and they awarded the First Prize to the company Meins Consulting, dedicated to the electrical industry, especially valued for its contribution to the creation of employment, its adaptation to new times, its commitment to its sector and the development of revolutionary projects as merits to win this award.

In addition to Ibéricos Torreón, the companies Dehesa Grande (Internationalization), SolarTec Renovables (Digitalization and Innovation), and Castro y González (Sustainable Company) also received second prizes.

The president of the Chamber, Benjamín Crespo, highlighted during the awards ceremony “the talent, dedication and success of small and medium-sized businesses that are the economic heartbeat of our province.”
